I know there hasn’t been a lot of activity with WP-Forge since it was last updated back on August 22, 2014. Since that time, there have been a few updates released by Zurb, namely 5.4.1 through 5.4.4. However, if you go to the Foundation home page and download the latest version, it still points to 5.4. It seems there was an error of some kind with these releases regarding sass, grunt and all of that (please correct me if I am wrong). I am really not to sure what those were but the latest, most stable version is 5.4.
According to the Foundation Github page (where these updates are available), the 5.4.1 release was just a version release. If you look at the foundation js files in WP-Forge, they all do say 5.3.3. The 5.4.2 release was a fix that targeted a scss issue. This of course does not concern WP-Forge, yet, as WP-Forge at the moment does not utilize scss. The 5.4.3 release added some new features and a few more fixes. the 5.4.4 release, which was released 5 days ago looks like it concerns scss. If you like you can view these latest updates here https://github.com/zurb/foundation/releases
So, even though you may see these release on the Github page, WP-Forge uses the latest stable version from the actual Foundation site, which is 5.4. During this hiatus of sorts, I am reworking a few things in WP-Forge as well as adding a few new features that I hope everyone will like. What are they? Well that is something that you will have to wait for 😉 I am not sure yet if I will be releasing these updates before the next stable version of Foundation is actually released. I am torn (like an old sweater) on releasing once I am done or waiting for Foundation. What do you think?
I can say this though, I feel these new changes will improve the overall usability of the theme and hopefully make WP-Forge stand out as the best WordPress/Foundation theme out there as I feel she is.
I did however release a new version of WP-Starter. This new release actually had only one change to it. I deregistered the functions.js of WP-Forge and made the wpstarter-functions.js file the only file that loads. It contains the same information as the original functions.js file of WP-Forge. I felt it wasn’t necessary to load two files when only one is actually needed.
So with that in mind, I am still here and I am still working on WP-Forge and have a few things planned. In the interim, if you have any questions, concerns or if you need help, please feel free to shoot me an email or create a new thread in the forums.
As always, enjoy! 😎
