WP-Forge Updating to Soon

This morning I uploaded WP-Forge to the WordPress theme directory. Not too many improvements but I did take care of a few things that needed to be done.

For instance I am happy to say that I finally got the footer copyright area to hold html. Now all you devs out there can add all the html to the footer copyright area you want. Another add on is Font-Awesome. I have gotten a ton of email from lots of individuals asking me to include Font-Awesome with WP-Forge. So I decided “Why not”.

There are also a few other improvements broght about by some of the users in the awesome community. I have copied the changelog.txt file

Theme Name: WP-Forge
File Name: Changelog
Tested up to: 4.3.1
Stable tag:

* Set the default display of post thumbnails to yes for the customizer view.
* Corrected the issue with the footer text area. Now users can insert html.
* Corrected issue with archive, tag and search pages not showing excerpts if Show full post or excerpt? is set to excerpt. Also added post thumbal display to archive, tag and search pages.
* Corrected an issue with off-canvas for mobile where the hamburger icon text was not showing.
* Moved all Off-Canvas settings to Mobile Menu View. This makes it easier to access the off-canvas settings instead of the user having to go back and forth to different sections.
* Added Font-Awesome back into the mix. I have been receiving a lot of emails asking for this to be brought back, so I decided why not.
* Moved the Show home page title section into the Static Front Page Section.
* Renamed the panels in customizer. Instead of sections they are now called options. Also modified some of the descriptions of the panels and secions.
* Updated README.txt
* Updated verbiage of style.css

Hopefully the update will be approved withing the next few days. It all depends on how fast they get to it.

As always, enjoy!

  1. Woo hoo!
    Great that you’re keeping things updated for our F5 based sites!

    (Can’t wait for F6 for our future ones though.)

  2. Btw, probably too late for this rev but….
    I have a new iPhone 6s Plus and in landscape mode WP-Forge’s menu is top-bar and not mobile. So your and my topbar menu cover 3 rows. Ideally this screen res or device type would have the mobile menu.
