TotalPress WordPress foundation theme

SAY HELLO TO

TOTALPRESS

THE #1 FREE WORDPRESS FOUNDATION FOR SITES THEME

The newest responsive WordPress theme from ThemeAWESOME was developed by combining the _s (Underscores) theme and the latest version of Foundation for sites. TotalPress is a powerful and versatile theme that can be used to create any layout you wish.

Theme Highlights

I wanted TotalPress to be completely different than WP-Forge so I added a few things that will hopefully make it stand out.

Sidebars

Top-Sidebar, Header Sidebar, Right Sidebar, Left Sidebar, 5 footer widgets (each is a sidebar area) and a Footer Sidebar.

Page Templates

Content-Sidebar, Sidebar-Content, Content-Sidebar-Sidebar, Sidebar-Sidebar-Content, Sidebar-Content-Sidebar and Full-Width-No-Sidebars

Metaboxes

Metaboxes give you more options to change the layout of each post and page individually.

Social Icons

Includes over 35 social icons that be added to any sidebar location using the custom-menu widget.

Foundation for Sites

Built using the best responsive front end framework in the world, Foundation for Sites 6.4.3. From Zurb: “Foundation for Sites 6 has been designed to get your project from prototype to production more efficiently than ever before! It includes a wide range of modular and flexible components that are easily styled. These versatile and lightweight building blocks make it easy to bring your ideas to life.”

Kirki Plugin Integration

kirki-customizer

One of the coolest things about TotalPress is the integration of the Kirki Plugin. Kirki is a plugin that provides 30 different controls for the theme customizer. Some of the controls that are included are Google Fonts, color selection with alpha control, switches, toggels and image uploads.

I spent a lot of time searching how to create some of these controls and could not find anything that really helped. I am amazed at the lack of information available when it comes to creating custom controls like fonts and so on. Then I came across Kirki and I instantly knew that I had to include it with TotalPress. Kirki was built to WordPress standards and is used on over 100,000 sites, so you know it’s solidly built. Aristeides Stathopoulos, the developer of Kirki, keeps it up to date and will go out of his way to help with any and all issues. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Meta Box

Just recently, I have incorporated the Meta Box plugin into TotalPress. From the site: “Meta Box plugin is a powerful, professional toolkit for developers to create and handle everything related to custom meta boxes and custom fields for WordPress.”

The Meta Box plugin allows me to create some very powerful metaboxes that will in turn allow you to create and do some pretty amazing things with TotalPress.

WooCommerce Integration

Hooks & Filters

One of the things that has really impressed me about some of the commercial themes I have worked with in the past have been hooks and filters built into those themes. So I added hooks and filters to TotalPress which will allow you to do all kinds of cool stuff. Basically the only limitation will be your imagination.
